Great book. Incredible photos. A Must Have Mar 19, 2009
By T. Vervaeke Just got this book a few weeks ago. I'm an airhead owner and not that interested in the other material. On the airhead side alone there is an incredible amount of data, photos, press photos, cutaway drawings, and race photos. Some of the information was new to me despite the fact that I own a 1993 BMW R100GS.
The authors did a great job on putting all of this data into one place. This book will have a place on my coffee table for the next year and then will become a treasured member of my BMW motorcycle book collection.
Highly recommended.

Excellent Reference on the GS Apr 03, 2009
By Ursa Major I've owned 10 BMW GS's over the last 16 years, and currently own one (I actually bought a GS a few years ago from the previous reviewer, never should have sold it). I'll probably always own one; every iteration of the GS has been the perfect all-around, do-everything motorcycle of its era. They last forever, and early models are steadily increasing in value. This book isn't cheap, but the production quality is excellent, with quality paper and full color on most pages. It covers every street model of the GS, both the traditional boxer twins and the more recent 650 singles and 800 parallel twin models, as well as BMW's extensive racing history with the GS (including several Paras-Dakar wins). If you're a GS (or BMW) fan, you've got to own the book. If you're considering picking one up, this is an excellent introduction (then join the forums at [...] and allocate a month or so to reading old posts..). Highly recommended.
Excellent book for the BMW enthusiast Mar 23, 2011
By Romulus Excellent book wonderful illustrations very detailed review of the BMW motorcycle hitory and genre. If you are a GS fan - which is what I am - I would have liked more on the GS but I have not found anyhting out there that comes as close or as well put together as this book.

I love this book! The photos are EXCELLENT as is the story of BMW's history. Although I read it cover to cover six weeks ago I'm still picking it up to look the photos over. I especially enjoy reading the praises for my post 1995 boxer- a well rounded dream machine but then aren't all BMWs? BUY THIS BOOK.
