This can be easily removed. This uses the cradle that came with your GPS. This fits all Garmin Nuvi GPS models as well as the Streetpilot C580 C550 C530 i5 i3 i2 GPS. | |

lasted about 2 miles Apr 18, 2009

On the first speed bump I hit, the cradle left the mount, thank God there was no traffic on the road and I was able to pick up my GPS before it got run over, I used some rubber tape to secure the cradle in the ball and then while going over a railroad track, the whole ball came off the mount. The one that looks like a zip tie works much better.

Don't waste your money Apr 16, 2009

This mount uses the standard Nuvi clip and ball mount that the factory car mounts use. The problem is that the ball mount isn't tight enough to hold the Nuvi securely. Even on smooth pavement, road vibrations will cause the angle of the Nuvi to change, so you'll be constantly readjusting the Nuvi's position to be able to read it. Hit a good bump, like a pothole or go over some railroad tracks, it's goodbye Nuvi -- it will go flying right off the bike. That happened to me, but luckily, the Nuvi 550 is one tough package. It came through badly scratched, but otherwise still working.

you get what you pay for Jul 06, 2009

I used this under 10 times on my motorcycle and it broke on the 10th time of use! I tried to superglue once and then it broke again. The only reason I didn't lose my GPS was because I duck taped the superglue job just in case--good thing I did! I'm getting a steel frame one now. Trying to go cheap was clearly a bad idea compared to the price of your GPS!

You're probably better off keeping the nuvi in your pocket Dec 28, 2008

There are two problems with this product - the nuvi doesn't have enough battery life to run continuously in map mode, like in the car, and my nuvi fell off the mount when I went down a ramped curb on a corner. It is probably better to leave the nuvi off and in your pocket, taking it out when deciding which turn to take.

Not for NUVI Nov 23, 2010
By David V. Harris

The ball on this mount is too small for a Garmin Nuvi. There is no way this mount can be for ANY Garmin Nuvi. The GPS unit just "flops around" when it is used. Beware. They wanted to get rid of a defective product.
